English Translation

Yaḥyā ibn Ādam narrated to us, Isrāʾīl narrated to us, from Manṣūr, from Ibrāhīm, from Hammām ibn al-Ḥārith, from ʿAdī ibn Ḥātim رضي الله عنه who said: I asked the Prophet ﷺ, I said, 'O Messenger of Allah, we send our trained dogs.' He said: 'Eat.' I said, 'Even if they kill?' He said: 'Even if they kill, as long as other dogs don't join them.' I said, 'We throw the miʿrāḍ.' He said: 'If it pierces, eat. If it strikes with its broad side, don't eat.'
