حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ عَبَّادٍ قَالَ قُلْتُ لِعَمَّارِ بْنِ يَاسِرٍ يَا أَبَا الْيَقْظَانِ أَرَأَيْتَ ه
َذَا الْأَمْرَ الَّذِي أَتَيْتُمُوهُ بِرَأْيِكُمْ أَوْ شَيْءٌ عَهِدَهُ إِلَيْكُمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ مَا عَهِدَ إِلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ شَيْئًا لَمْ يَعْهَدْهُ إِلَى النَّاسِ

English Translation
ʿAbd al-Ṣamad narrated to us, Hammām narrated to us, Qatādah narrated to us, from Abū Naḍrah, from Qays ibn ʿAbbād, who said: I said to ʿAmmār ibn Yāsir رضي الله عنه, 'O Abū al-Yaqẓān, do you consider this matter that you undertook — was it by your own judgment, or something the Messenger of Allah ﷺ entrusted to you?' He said: 'the Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not entrust anything to us that he did not entrust to all people.'
