English Translation

Ismāʿīl narrated to us: Saʿīd al-Jurayrī narrated to us, from Abū ʿĀʾidh Sayf al-Saʿdī — and he praised him well — from Yazīd ibn al-Barāʾ ibn ʿĀzib, who was a governor in ʿUmān and was among the best of governors. He said: My father said: Gather, and I will show you how the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to perform wuḍūʾ and how he used to pray, for I do not know how long my time with you will be. He gathered his children and family, called for water for wuḍūʾ, rinsed his mouth and nose, washed his face three times, washed his right hand three times, washed his left hand three times, then wiped his head and his ears — outer and inner — washed his right foot three times, and washed his left foot three times. He said: This is my best effort to show you how the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to perform wuḍūʾ. Then he entered his house and prayed a prayer we could not identify, then came out and ordered the prayer to be established. He led us in Ẓuhr — I think I heard him recite verses from Yā Sīn — then he prayed ʿAṣr, then led us in Maghrib, then led us in ʿIshāʾ. He said: I have spared no effort to show you how the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to perform wuḍūʾ and how he used to pray.
