حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ قَالَ كَانَ رَجُلٌ يَقْرَأُ فِي دَارِهِ سُورَةَ الْكَهْفِ وَإِلَى جَانِبِهِ حِصَانٌ لَهُ مَرْبُوطٌ بِشَطَنَيْنِ حَتَّى غَشِيَتْهُ سَحَابَةٌ فَجَعَلَتْ تَدْنُو وَتَدْن
ُو حَتَّى جَعَلَ فَرَسُهُ يَنْفِرُ مِنْهَا قَالَ الرَّجُلُ فَعَجِبْتُ لِذَلِكَ فَلَمَّا أَصْبَحَ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَذَكَرَ ذَلِكَ لَهُ وَقَصَّ عَلَيْهِ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تِلْكَ السَّكِينَةُ تَنَزَّلَتْ لِلْقُرْآنِ

English Translation
Yaḥyā ibn Ādam narrated to us: Zuhayr narrated to us, from Abū Isḥāq, from al-Barāʾ ibn ʿĀzib, who said: A man was reciting Sūrat al-Kahf in his house, and beside him was a horse tied with two ropes. A cloud enveloped him and began drawing closer and closer, until his horse started shying away from it. The man was amazed by this. When morning came, he went to the Prophet ﷺ and told him about it. the Prophet ﷺ said: "That was the tranquility (al-sakīnah) — it descended because of the Quran."
