Chain of Narration (Isnad)

حَدَّثَنَا حُجَيْنٌ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ عَن أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ قَالَ بَيْنَمَا رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي وَفَرَسٌ لَهُ حِصَانٌ مَرْبُوطٌ فِي الدَّارِ فَجَ

عَلَ يَنْفِرُ فَخَرَجَ الرَّجُلُ فَنَظَرَ فَلَمْ يَرَ شَيْئًا وَجَعَلَ يَنْفِرُ فَلَمَّا أَصْبَحَ ذَكَرَ ذَلِكَ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ تِلْكَ السَّكِينَةُ نَزَلَتْ بِالْقُرْآنِ

English Translation

Shuʿbah narrated from Abū Isḥāq, from al-Barāʾ, who said: 'A man was reciting Sūrat al-Kahf and he had a horse tied with two ropes. A cloud came and began to draw near, and his horse began to shy away from it. When morning came, he went to the Prophet ﷺ and mentioned that to him. He said: "That was tranquility (sakīnah) that descended due to the Quran."'
