English Translation
Muḥammad ibn Jaʿfar narrated to us, Shuʿbah narrated to us, from al-Ḥakam who said: I heard Ibn Abī Laylā narrating from a man among the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ who said: 'Do not go out to meet incoming goods, and a town-dweller should not sell on behalf of a desert-dweller. Whoever purchases a sheep or camel whose milk has been allowed to accumulate [muṣarrāh] — Shuʿbah said he only mentioned a camel once — he has the option of the later of two considerations: if he milks it and wishes to return it, he returns it along with a ṣāʿ of food.' Al-Ḥakam said: 'Or he said: a ṣāʿ of dates.'
