حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ مُخَارِقِ بْنِ خَلِيفَةَ الْأَحْمَسِيِّ عَنْ طَارِقٍ أَنَّ الْمِقْدَادَ قَالَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ ص
َلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَ بَدْرٍ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّا لَا نَقُولُ لَكَ كَمَا قَالَتْ بَنُو إِسْرَائِيلَ لِمُوسَى { اذْهَبْ أَنْتَ وَرَبُّكَ فَقَاتِلَا إِنَّا هَاهُنَا قَاعِدُونَ } وَلَكِنْ اذْهَبْ أَنْتَ وَرَبُّكَ فَقَاتِلَا إِنَّا مَعَكُمْ مُقَاتِلُونَ

English Translation
Wakīʿ narrated to us, Sufyān narrated to us, from Mukhāriq ibn Khalīfah al-Aḥmasī, from Ṭāriq, that al-Miqdād said to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the day of Badr: 'O Messenger of Allah, we shall not say to you as the Children of Israel said to Mūsā: {Go, you and your Lord, and fight; we are sitting right here} [5:24]. Rather, go, you and your Lord, and fight — we shall fight alongside you both.'
