English Translation
ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Mahdī narrated to us, from Sufyān, from ʿAlqamah ibn Marthad, from Ṭāriq ibn Shihāb, that a man asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ — while he had already placed his foot in the stirrup — 'Which jihād is most virtuous?' He said: 'A word of truth before an unjust authority.'
