English Translation
Abū Saʿīd, the freed slave of Banū Hāshim, narrated to us, ʿAbd Allāh ibn Jaʿfar narrated to us, Umm Bakr bint al-Miswar ibn Makhramah narrated to us, from ʿUbayd Allāh ibn Abī Rāfiʿ, from al-Miswar, that Ḥasan ibn Ḥasan sent to him proposing marriage to his daughter. He said: 'Tell him to meet me during the ʿIshāʾ prayer.' He met him, and al-Miswar praised Allah and extolled Him, then said: 'As for what follows: by Allah, there is no lineage, relationship, or marriage tie dearer to me than your relationship and your tie. But the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Fāṭimah is a part of me; what distresses her distresses me, and what pleases her pleases me. And indeed, all ties of lineage and kinship will be severed on the Day of Resurrection except my lineage, my relationship, and my marriage tie. You already have his [the Prophet ﷺ's] daughter [i.e., you descend from Fāṭimah], and if I were to marry you [my daughter as well], it would distress her.' So he [Ḥasan ibn Ḥasan] left, excusing him.
