حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ مِنْ كِتَابِهِ حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ حَدَّثَنَا ثَا
بِتٌ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى عَنْ صُهَيْبٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَجِبْتُ لِأَمْرِ الْمُؤْمِنِ إِنَّ أَمْرَ الْمُؤْمِنِ كُلَّهُ لَهُ خَيْرٌ لَيْسَ ذَلِكَ لِأَحَدٍ إِلَّا لِلْمُؤْمِنِ إِنْ أَصَابَتْهُ سَرَّاءُ شَكَرَ وَكَانَ خَيْرًا وَإِنْ أَصَابَتْهُ ضَرَّاءُ صَبَرَ وَكَانَ خَيْرًا

English Translation
ʿAffān narrated to us from his book, Sulaymān narrated to us, Thābit narrated to us, from Ibn Abī Laylā, from Ṣuhayb, who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "I am amazed at the affair of the believer. The entire affair of the believer is good for him; that is not for anyone except the believer. If prosperity befalls him, he is grateful, and it is good for him. If adversity befalls him, he is patient, and it is good for him."
