حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا أَبَانُ الْعَطَّارُ حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ عُرْفُطَةَ عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ سَالِمٍ وَقَالَ أَبَانُ أَخْبَرَنَا قَتَادَةُ أَنَّهُ كَتَبَ إِلَى حَبِيبِ بْنِ سَالِمٍ فِيهِ فَكَتَبَ إِلَيْه
ِ أَنَّ رَجُلًا يُقَالُ لَهُ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ حُنَيْنٍ كَانَ يُنْبَزُ قُرْقُورًا رُفِعَ إِلَى النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ وَطِئَ جَارِيَةَ امْرَأَتِهِ فَقَالَ لَأَقْضِيَنَّ فِيكَ بِقَضَاءِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنْ كَانَتْ أَحَلَّتْهَا لَكَ جَلَدْتُكَ مِائَةً وَإِنْ لَمْ تَكُنْ أَحَلَّتْهَا لَكَ رَجَمْتُكَ فَوَجَدَهَا قَدْ أَحَلَّتْهَا لَهُ فَجَلَدَهُ مِائَةً

English Translation
ʿAffān narrated to us: Abān al-ʿAṭṭār narrated to us: Qatādah narrated to us, from Khālid ibn ʿUrfuṭah, from Ḥabīb ibn Sālim — and Abān said: Qatādah informed us that he wrote to Ḥabīb ibn Sālim about it, and he wrote back: A man called ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Ḥunayn — who was nicknamed Qurqūr — was brought to al-Nuʿmān ibn Bashīr for having had intercourse with his wife's slave-girl. He said: 'I shall judge your case with the judgment of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ: if she had permitted her to you, I will lash you one hundred; and if she had not permitted her to you, I will stone you.' He found that she had permitted her to him, so he lashed him one hundred.
