حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي قَيْسٌ قَالَ قَالَ لِي جَرِيرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَلَا تُرِيحُنِي مِنْ ذِي الْخَلَصَةِ وَكَانَ بَيْتًا فِي خَثْعَمَ يُسَمَّى كَعْبَةَ الْيَمَانِيَةِ قَالَ فَانْطَلَقْتُ فِي خَمْسِينَ وَمِائَةِ فَارِسٍ مِنْ أَحْمَسَ وَكَانُوا أَصْحَابَ خَيْلٍ فَأَخْبَرْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَل
َّمَ أَنِّي لَا أَثْبُتُ عَلَى الْخَيْلِ فَضَرَبَ فِي صَدْرِي حَتَّى رَأَيْتُ أَثَرَ أَصَابِعِهِ فِي صَدْرِي وَقَالَ اللَّهُمَّ ثَبِّتْهُ وَاجْعَلْهُ هَادِيًا مَهْدِيًّا فَانْطَلَقَ إِلَيْهَا فَكَسَّرَهَا وَحَرَّقَهَا فَأَرْسَلَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُبَشِّرُهُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ جَرِيرٍ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَالَّذِي بَعَثَكَ بِالْحَقِّ مَا جِئْتُكَ حَتَّى تَرَكْتُهَا كَأَنَّهَا جَمَلٌ أَجْرَبُ فَبَارَكَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى خَيْلِ أَحْمَسَ وَرِجَالِهَا خَمْسَ مَرَّاتٍ

English Translation
Jarīr ibn ʿAbd Allāh narrated: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me, 'Will you not relieve me of Dhū al-Khalasah?' It was a shrine in Khathʿam called the Kaʿbah of Yemen. So I set out with one hundred and fifty horsemen from Aḥmas — they were men of horse. I informed the Messenger of Allah ﷺ that I could not stay firm on horseback, so he struck my chest until I could see the marks of his fingers, and he said: 'O Allah, make him firm and make him a guide, rightly guided.' He went to it, destroyed it, and burned it. Then he sent a messenger to the Prophet ﷺ to give him the good news. The messenger of Jarīr said to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ: 'By the One who sent you with the truth, I did not come to you until I left it like a mangy camel.' the Messenger of Allah ﷺ blessed the cavalry and men of Aḥmas five times.
