Hadith #198
Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنَا زَائِدَةُ حَدَّثَنَا عَاصِمٌ عَنْ شَقِيقٍ عَنْ جَرِيرٍ قَالَ قُلْت
ُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ اشْتَرِطْ عَلَيَّ فَأَنْتَ أَعْلَمُ بِالشَّرْطِ قَالَ أُبَايِعُكَ عَلَى أَنْ تَعْبُدَ اللَّهَ لَا تُشْرِكُ بِهِ شَيْئًا وَتُقِيمَ الصَّلَاةَ وَتُؤْتِيَ الزَّكَاةَ وَتَنْصَحَ الْمُسْلِمَ وَتَبْرَأَ مِنْ الْمُشْرِكِ

English Translation
Jarīr said to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ: 'Stipulate your conditions upon me, for you know best what to stipulate.' He said: 'I take your pledge that you worship Allah, associating nothing with Him, establish the prayer, pay the zakāh, be sincere to every Muslim, and disassociate from the polytheist.'
