English Translation
Jarīr ibn ʿAbd Allāh narrated: I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to pledge allegiance. I said, 'Give me your hand and stipulate your conditions upon me, for you know best what to stipulate.' He said: 'I take your pledge that you not associate anything with Allah, establish the prayer, pay the zakāh, be sincere to every Muslim, and separate from the polytheist.'
