حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ مَيْمُونٍ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ كُنْتُ عِنْدَ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَرْقَمَ فَجَاءَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَقْصَى الْفَسْطَاسِ فَسَأَلَهُ عَنْ دَاءٍ فَقَالَ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ أَلَسْتُ أَوْلَى بِالْمُ
ؤْمِنِينَ مِنْ أَنْفُسِهِمْ قَالُوا بَلَى قَالَ مَنْ كُنْتُ مَوْلَاهُ فَعَلِيٌّ مَوْلَاهُ قَالَ مَيْمُونٌ فَحَدَّثَنِي بَعْضُ الْقَوْمِ عَنْ زَيْدٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ اللَّهُمَّ وَالِ مَنْ وَالَاهُ وَعَادِ مَنْ عَادَاهُ

English Translation
Zayd ibn Arqam (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that i was with Zayd ibn Arqam when a man came from the far end of the tent and asked him about a matter. He said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Am I not more worthy of the believers than they are of themselves?' They said: 'Indeed.' He said: 'Whoever I am his mawlā, then ʿAlī is his mawlā.' Maymūn said: Some of the people narrated to me from Zayd that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'O Allah, befriend whoever befriends him, and be hostile to whoever is hostile to him.'
