English Translation
Yaḥyā ibn Saʿīd narrated to us, from Thawr who said: Rāshid ibn Saʿd narrated to me, from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Luḥayy, from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Qurṭ رضي الله عنه, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'The greatest of days in the sight of Allah is the Day of Sacrifice (Yawm al-Naḥr), then the Day of Departure (Yawm al-Nafr).' Five or six sacrificial camels were brought close to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to be slaughtered, and they began drawing near to him, each vying to be first. When they had fallen on their sides, he spoke a word quietly that I did not understand. I asked some of those near me what he said, and they said he said, 'Whoever wishes may take a piece.'
