قَالَ قُرِئَ عَلَى سُفْيَانَ وَأَنَا شَاهِدٌ سَمِعْتُ مَعْمَرًا يُحَدِّثُ عَ
نِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَزْهَرَ قَالَ جُرِحَ خَالِدُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ فَرَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَسْأَلُ عَنْ رَحْلِهِ قُلْتُ وَأَنَا غُلَامٌ مَنْ يَدُلُّ عَلَى رَحْلِ خَالِدٍ فَأَتَاهُ وَهُوَ مَجْرُوحٌ فَجَلَسَ عِنْدَهُ

English Translation
He (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that it was read to Sufyān while I was present. I heard Maʿmar narrating from al-Zuhrī, from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Azhar رضي الله عنه who said: Khālid ibn al-Walīd was wounded, and I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ asking about his tent. I said — and I was a young boy — 'Who can show the way to the tent of Khālid?' He came to him while he was wounded and sat with him.
