English Translation
Hushaym narrated to us, al-Shaybānī informed us, from Muḥammad ibn Abī al-Mujālid who said: The people of the mosque sent me to Ibn Abī Awfā رضي الله عنه to ask him what the Prophet ﷺ did regarding the food of Khaybar. I came to him and asked him about that. I also said, 'Did he take a fifth of it?' He said, 'No, it was less than that.' He said, 'When one of us wanted something from it, he would take what he needed.'
