قَالَ وَقَتَلْتُ عَبْدَ الْعُزَّى بْنَ خَطَلٍ وَهُوَ مُتَعَلِّقٌ بِسِتْرِ الْكَعْبَةِ وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَ فَتْحِ مَكَّةَ النَّاسُ آمِنُونَ غَيْرَ عَبْدِ الْعُزَّى بْنِ خَطَلٍ
English Translation
He (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that and I killed ʿAbd al-ʿUzzā ibn Khaṭal while he was clinging to the curtain of the Kaʿbah. And the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said on the day of the conquest of Makkah: ‘The people are safe except for ʿAbd al-ʿUzzā ibn Khaṭal.’
