English Translation

Yahyā ibn Sa‘īd narrated to us, from Shu‘bah: Qatādah narrated to us. And Ismā‘īl ibn Ibrāhīm informed us: Sa‘īd narrated to us: Qatādah narrated to us, from Zurārah ibn Awfā, from ‘Imrān ibn Husayn, who said: The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ prayed Zuhr, and a man recited behind him with Sabbih Isma Rabbika al-A‘lā (Sūrah al-A‘lā). When he finished the prayer, he said: Which of you recited Sabbih Isma Rabbika al-A‘lā? A man said: I did. He said: I knew that one of you was contending with me in it. Muhammad ibn Ja‘far narrated to us: Sa‘īd narrated to us, from Qatādah, who said: I heard Zurārah ibn Awfā narrating from ‘Imrān ibn Husayn — and he mentioned the same.
