English Translation
Abū ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ʿAbd Allāh ibn Yazīd narrated to us, al-Masʿūdī narrated to us, from ʿAdī ibn Thābit, from Abū Burdah, from Abū Mūsā, who said: ʿUmar met Asmāʾ bint ʿUmays رضي الله تعالى عنهما and said: 'What fine people you are, were it not that you were preceded in the Hijrah. We are better than you.' She said: 'You were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ — he taught your ignorant ones and carried your unmounted ones, while we fled with our religion.' She said: 'I shall not stop until I go to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.' So she entered upon him and mentioned what ʿUmar رضي الله تعالى عنه had said to her. the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Rather, you have the Hijrah twice — your migration to Abyssinia and your migration to Madinah.'
