English Translation

Muḥammad ibn Jaʿfar narrated to us, Shuʿbah narrated to us, from Qatādah, who said: I heard Zurārah ibn Awfā narrating from ʿImrān ibn Ḥuṣayn, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed Ẓuhr, and a man was reciting behind him ‘Sabbiḥi sma Rabbika al-Aʿlā’ (Sūrah al-Aʿlā). When he finished, he said: “Which of you recited?” — or: “Which of you is the reciter?” A man said: ‘I did.’ He said: “I thought that one of you was disputing it with me.”
