English Translation
ʿAbd Allāh narrated to us, my father narrated to me, Yazīd narrated to us, Sulaymān al-Taymī informed us, from Abū al-ʿAlāʿ ibn al-Shikkhir, from ʿImrān ibn Ḥuṣayn — Sulaymān said: I am uncertain about ʿImrān — that the Prophet ﷺ said to him: ‘O ʿImrān, did you fast anything from the last days of Shaʿbān?’ He said: ‘No.’ He said: ‘Then when you break your fast (from Ramadan), fast a day’ — or: ‘two days.’
