ʿAbd Allāh narrated to us, my father narrated to me, Rawḥ narrated to us, Saʿīd ibn Abī ʿArūbah narrated to us, from Qatādah, from al-Ḥasan, from ʿImrān ibn Ḥuṣayn, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “I do not ride on al-urjuwān (purple-dyed saddle cloth), nor do I wear saffron-dyed garments, nor do I wear a shirt trimmed with silk.” He said: And al-Ḥasan pointed to the collar of his shirt. And he said: “Indeed, the perfume of men is a scent with no color, and the perfume of women is a color with no scent.”
