حَدَّثَنَا مُؤَمَّلٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ خَيْثَمَةَ لَيْسَ فِيهِ عَنْ ال
ْحَسَنِ الْبَصْرِيِّ قَالَ مَرَّ عِمْرَانُ بْنُ حُصَيْنٍ بِرَجُلٍ يَقُصُّ فَقَالَ عِمْرَانُ إِنَّا لِلَّهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ اقْرَءُوا الْقُرْآنَ وَسَلُوا اللَّهَ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى بِهِ مِنْ قَبْلِ أَنْ يَجِيءَ قَوْمٌ يَسْأَلُونَ النَّاسَ بِهِ
Isnad Chain
English Translation
Muʿammal narrated to us, Sufyān narrated to us, from al-Aʿmash, from Khaythamah — not through al-Ḥasan al-Baṣrī — who said: ʿImrān ibn Ḥuṣayn passed by a man who was telling stories. ʿImrān said: ‘Innā lillāhi wa innā ilayhi rājiʿūn. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "Recite the Quran and ask Allah تبارك وتعالى by it before people come who ask people by it."’
