English Translation

Muḥammad ibn Ja‘far narrated to us, Shu‘bah narrated to us, from Ismā‘īl — meaning Ibn Abī Khālid — who said: I heard al-Sha‘bī narrating from Samurah ibn Jundub, who said: the Prophet ﷺ prayed the morning prayer and said: “Is anyone from such-and-such clan here?” They said: ‘Yes.’ He said: “Your companion is being held at the gate of Paradise due to a debt upon him.”
