حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ سَمُرَ

ةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ كُلُّ غُلَامٍ رَهِينٌ بِعَقِيقَتِهِ تُذْبَحُ عَنْهُ يَوْمَ السَّابِعِ وَيُحْلَقُ رَأْسُهُ وَيُسَمَّى

English Translation

Isḥāq narrated to us, Sa‘īd narrated to us, from Qatādah, from al-Ḥasan, from Samurah, that the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: “Every boy is held in pledge by his ‘aqīqah, which is to be slaughtered on his seventh day. His head is shaved and he is named.”
