حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ عَن الْحَسَنِ قَالَ قَالَ سَمُرَةُ حَفِظْتُ سَكْتَتَيْنِ فِي الصَّلَاةِ سَكْتَةٌ إِذَا كَبَّرَ الْإِمَامُ حَتَّى يَقْرَأَ وَسَكْتَةٌ إِذَا فَرَغَ مِنْ قِرَاءَةِ فَاتِحَةِ الْك
ِتَابِ وَسُورَةٍ عِنْدَ الرُّكُوعِ قَالَ فَأَنْكَرَ ذَلِكَ عَلَيْهِ عِمْرَانُ بْنُ حُصَيْنٍ فَكَتَبُوا إِلَى أُبَيٍّ فِي ذَلِكَ إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ قَالَ فَصَدَقَ سَمُرَةُ
Isnad Chain
English Translation
Ismā‘īl narrated to us, Yūnus narrated to us, from al-Ḥasan, who said: Samurah said: ‘I have memorized two pauses of silence in the prayer: a pause when the imam makes the takbīr (opening) until he recites, and a pause when he finishes reciting Sūrat al-Fātiḥah and a sūrah before bowing.’ ‘Imrān ibn Ḥuṣayn disputed this with him, and they wrote to Ubayy (ibn Ka‘b) about it in Medina, and he affirmed: Samurah spoke the truth.
