حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ عَن الْحَسَنِ عَن سَمُرَةَ أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَقُولُ كُلُّ غُلَامٍ رَهِينَةٌ لِعَقِيقَتِهِ تُذْبَحُ يَوْمَ سَابِعِهِ وَيُحْلَقُ وَيُدَمَّى
English Translation
‘Affān narrated to us, Hammām narrated to us, Qatādah narrated to us, from al-Ḥasan, from Samurah: the Prophet ﷺ of Allah ﷺ used to say: ‘Every boy is pledged for his ‘aqīqah; it is slaughtered on his seventh day, his head is shaved, and blood is applied to him.’
