Hadith #15

حَدَّثَنَا مُعْتَمِرٌ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ أَبِي الْحَكَمِ الْغِفَارِيَّ يَقُولُ حَدَّثَتْنِي جَدَّتِي عَنْ عَمِّ أَبِيهَا رَافِعِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو الْغِفَارِيِّ قَالَ كُنْتُ وَأَنَا غُلَامٌ أَرْمِي نَخْلًا لِلْأَنْصَارِ فَأُتِيَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقِيلَ إِنَّ هَاهُنَا غُلَامًا يَرْمِي نَخْلَنَا
فَأُتِيَ بِي إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ يَا غُلَامُ لِمَ تَرْمِي النَّخْلَ قَالَ قُلْتُ آكُلُ قَالَ فَلَا تَرْمِ النَّخْلَ وَكُلْ مَا يَسْقُطُ فِي أَسَافِلِهَا ثُمَّ مَسَحَ رَأْسِي وَقَالَ اللَّهُمَّ أَشْبِعْ بَطْنَهُ

English Translation
It was narrated from a young companion that he was brought to the Prophet ﷺ and the Prophet ﷺ said: 'O boy, why do you throw stones at the date palms?' He said: 'I replied: To eat.' He said: 'Do not throw stones at them, but eat what falls from them. May Allah fill your belly and beautify your face.'
