Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَجِيدِ الثَّقَفِيُّ عَن أَيُّوبَ عَن مُحَمَّدٍ فَذَكَرَ قِصَّةً فِيهَا قَالَ فَلَمَّا قَدِمَ خُيِّرَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بَيْنَ ثَلَاثِينَ أَلْفًا وَبَيْنَ آنِيَةٍ مِنْ فِضَّةٍ قَالَ فَاخْتَارَ الْآنِيَةَ قَالَ فَقَدِ
مَ تُجَّارٌ مِنْ دَارِينَ فَبَاعَهُمْ إِيَّاهَا الْعَشْرَةَ ثَلَاثَةَ عَشْرَةَ ثُمَّ لَقِيَ أَبَا بَكْرَةَ فَقَالَ أَلَمْ تَرَ كَيْفَ خَدَعْتُهُمْ قَالَ كَيْفَ فَذَكَرَ لَهُ ذَلِكَ قَالَ عَزَمْتُ عَلَيْكَ أَوْ أَقْسَمْتُ عَلَيْكَ لَتَرُدَّنَّهَا فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَنْهَى عَنْ مِثْلِ هَذَا

English Translation
It was narrated from Abu Bakra (may Allah be pleased with him) that there was a story in which 'Abdullah was given a choice between thirty thousand and some silver vessels. He chose the vessels. Then merchants came from Darin and he sold the vessels to them, ten for thirteen. He then met Abu Bakra and said: 'Did you not see how I deceived them?' He said: 'How?' He mentioned it to him, and Abu Bakra said: 'I swear by Allah, I will not speak to you.'
