حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ حَدَّثَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ كُرَيْزٍ الْخُزَ

Body (Matn)

اعِيُّ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ الْبَصْرِيِّ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُغَفَّلٍ الْمُزَنِيِّ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ لَا تُصَلُّوا فِي عَطَنِ الْإِبِلِ فَإِنَّهَا مِنْ الْجِنِّ خُلِقَتْ أَلَا تَرَوْنَ عُيُونَهَا وَهِبَابَهَا إِذَا نَفَرَتْ وَصَلُّوا فِي مُرَاحِ الْغَنَمِ فَإِنَّهَا هِيَ أَقْرَبُ مِنْ الرَّحْمَةِ

English Translation

It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn Mughaffal (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Whoever keeps a dog except a dog for hunting or herding cattle will have two qirat deducted from his good deeds each day.'
