حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحُ بْنُ عُبَادَةَ حَدَّثَنَا بِسْطَامُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ خَلِيفَةَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْغُبَرِيَّ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ عَائِذَ بْنَ عَمْرٍو الْمُزَنِيَّ قَالَ بَيْنَمَا نَحْنُ مَعَ نَبِيِّنَا صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا أَعْرَابِيٌّ قَدْ أَلَحَّ عَلَيْهِ فِي الْمَسْأَلَةِ يَق
ُولُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَطْعِمْنِي يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَعْطِنِي قَالَ فَقَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَدَخَلَ الْمَنْزِلَ وَأَخَذَ بِعِضَادَتَيْ الْحُجْرَةِ وَأَقْبَلَ عَلَيْنَا بِوَجْهِهِ وَقَالَ وَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ بِيَدِهِ لَوْ تَعْلَمُونَ مَا أَعْلَمُ فِي الْمَسْأَلَةِ مَا سَأَلَ رَجُلٌ رَجُلًا وَهُوَ يَجِدُ لَيْلَةً تُبِيتُهُ فَأَمَرَ لَهُ بِطَعَامٍ

English Translation
It was narrated from 'A'idh ibn 'Amr al-Muzani (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: 'While we were with our Prophet ﷺ, a Bedouin came insistently begging him, saying: "O Messenger of Allah, feed me! O Messenger of Allah, give me!" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood up, entered the house, and took hold of the doorposts of his room. Then he turned to face us and said: "By the One in whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, if you knew what I know about begging, no man would ask another even though he had nothing to see him through the night." Then he ordered food to be given to him.'
