حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ مَوْلَى بَنِي هَاشِمٍ حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَبِي الْمَلِيحِ عَ

نْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّ رَجُلًا مِنْ هُذَيْلٍ أَعْتَقَ شَقِيصًا لَهُ مِنْ مَمْلُوكٍ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ هُوَ حُرٌّ كُلُّهُ لَيْسَ لِلَّهِ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى شَرِيكٌ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ سَمُرَةَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِمِثْلِهِ وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ عَنْ أَبِيهِ

English Translation

It was narrated from the father of Abu al-Malih (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man of the Hudhail freed a portion of a slave he owned. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ ruled that the slave was to be completely freed, saying: 'There is no partial freedom — free him entirely.'
