حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ قَالَ أَخَذَ ابْنُ سِيرِينَ غُسْلَهُ عَنْ أُمِّ عَطِيَّةَ قَالَتْ غَسَّلْنَا ابْنَةَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّ
مَ فَأَمَرَنَا أَنْ نَغْسِلَهَا بِالسِّدْرِ ثَلَاثًا فَإِنْ أَنْجَتْ وَإِلَّا فَخَمْسًا فَإِنْ أَنْجَتْ وَإِلَّا فَأَكْثَرَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ قَالَتْ فَرَأَيْنَا أَنَّ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ سَبْعٌ

English Translation
It was narrated from Umm 'Atiyya al-Ansariyya (may Allah be pleased with her) that she washed a daughter of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He commanded them to wash her with lote-leaves three times. If that was sufficient, well; otherwise five; if that was sufficient, well; otherwise more. She said: 'We considered that more than that would be seven.'
