حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ

قَرْمٍ عَن سِمَاكٍ عَن جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ قَالَ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَخْطُبُ قَائِمًا فَمَنْ حَدَّثَكَ أَنَّهُ رَآهُ يَخْطُبُ إِلَّا قَائِمًا فَقَدْ كَذَبَ وَلَكِنَّهُ رُبَّمَا خَرَجَ وَرَأَى النَّاسَ فِي قِلَّةٍ فَجَلَسَ ثُمَّ يَثُوبُونَ ثُمَّ يَقُومُ فَيَخْطُبُ قَائِمًا

English Translation

It was narrated from Jabir ibn Samura (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ always delivered the sermon while standing. Whoever claims he delivered it while sitting has lied. I used to pray with him, and his prayer was of moderate length.
