Hadith #135
Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ حَدَّثَنِي حَبِيبٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ عَنْ سَعِي
دِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ قَالَ عُمَرُ عَلِيٌّ أَقْضَانَا وَأُبَيٌّ أَقْرَؤُنَا وَإِنَّا لَنَدَعُ مِنْ قَوْلِ أُبَيٍّ وَأُبَيٌّ يَقُولُ أَخَذْتُ مِنْ فَمِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَلَا أَدَعُهُ وَاللَّهُ يَقُولُ { مَا نَنْسَخْ مِنْ آيَةٍ أَوْ نُنْسِهَا }

English Translation
It was narrated from Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that Umar said: 'Ali is the most judicious among us, and Ubayy is the best reciter among us, and we leave some of what Ubayy says, while Ubayy says: I took it from the mouth of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and will not leave it.'
