‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏وَكِيعٌ ‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏سُفْيَانُ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ ‏ ‏أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏كَانَ ‏ ‏يَخْطُبُ قَائِمًا وَيَجْلِسُ بَيْنَ الْخُطْبَتَيْنِ ‏ ‏وَيَتْلُو آيَاتٍ مِنْ الْقُرْآنِ وَكَانَتْ خُطْبَتُهُ ‏ ‏قَصْدًا ‏ ‏وَصَلَاتُهُ ‏ ‏قَصْدًا ‏

English Translation

It was narrated from Jabir ibn Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet ﷺ used to deliver the khutbah standing and sit between the two khutbahs, recite verses from the Quran, and his khutbah was moderate.
