English Translation

It was narrated from Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah دلوالله said: "There are three whom Allah loves and three whom Allah hates. As for those Allah loves: a man who comes to a people and asks them in the name of Allah, not out of any kinship ties between him and them, and they refuse him — so a man separated from the group gives to him in secret, not showing it to anyone but Allah and the one he gave to; a man who travels with a group and they walk through the night until sleep has become more beloved to them than anything, and he wakes them for the prayer; and a man who is in an expedition and the enemy has inflicted losses on them, so he holds firm until he is either killed or given victory. As for those Allah hates: the boastful, the conceited, the miser, and the arrogant merchant."
