‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏وَكِيعٌ ‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏فُلَانٌ الْعَامِرِيُّ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏جَسْرَةَ بِنْتِ دَجَاجَةَ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي ذَرٍّ ‏ ‏أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏قَرَأَ هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ فَرَدَّدَهَا حَتَّى أَصْبَحَ ‏ { ‏إِنْ تُعَذِّبْهُمْ فَإِنَّهُمْ عِبَادُكَ وَإِنْ تَغْفِرْ لَهُمْ فَإِنَّكَ أَنْتَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ ‏}

English Translation

It was narrated from Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet دلوالله stood one night in prayer reciting a single verse, repeating it until dawn: "If You punish them, they are indeed Your servants; and if You forgive them, You are indeed the Almighty, the All-Wise." [Quran 5:118]
