Hadith #390
Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ الْمَعْرُورِ بْنِ سُوَيْدٍ عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُؤْتَى بِالرَّجُلِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فَيُقَالُ اعْرِضُوا عَلَيْهِ صِغَارَ ذُنُوبِهِ قَالَ فَتُعْرَضُ عَلَيْهِ وَيُخَبَّأُ عَنْهُ كِبَارُهَا فَيُقَالُ عَ
مِلْتَ يَوْمَ كَذَا وَكَذَا كَذَا وَكَذَا وَهُوَ مُقِرٌّ لَا يُنْكِرُ وَهُوَ مُشْفِقٌ مِنْ الْكِبَارِ فَيُقَالُ أَعْطُوهُ مَكَانَ كُلِّ سَيِّئَةٍ حَسَنَةً قَالَ فَيَقُولُ إِنَّ لِي ذُنُوبًا مَا أَرَاهَا قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو ذَرٍّ فَلَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ضَحِكَ حَتَّى بَدَتْ نَوَاجِذُهُ

English Translation
It was narrated from Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah دلوالله said: "On the Day of Resurrection, I know a man from my nation who will be brought and ninety-nine scrolls will be unrolled for him, each as far as the eye can see. Then it will be said: 'Do you deny anything of this?' He will say: 'No, O Lord.' It will be said: 'Do you have an excuse?' He will say: 'No, O Lord.' It will be said: 'Yes you do — you have one good deed with Us.' A card will be brought on which is written 'I testify that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger.' He will say: 'What good is this card against all those scrolls?' It will be said: 'You will not be wronged.' The scrolls will be placed in one pan of the scale and the card in the other — the scrolls will rise and the card will outweigh them, for nothing can outweigh the name of Allah."
