Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ عَنِ الْجُرَيْرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ الشِّخِّيرِ عَنْ الْأَحْنَفِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ قَالَ قَدِمْتُ الْمَدِينَةَ فَبَيْنَا أَنَا فِي حَلَقَةٍ فِيهَا مَلَأٌ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ إِذْ جَاءَ رَجُلٌ فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ فَاتَّبَعْتُهُ حَتَّى جَلَسَ إِلَى سَارِيَةٍ فَقُلْتُ مَا رَأَيْتُ هَؤُلَاءِ إِلَّا كَرِهُوا مَا قُلْتَ لَهُمْ فَقَالَ
إِنَّ خَلِيلِي أَبَا الْقَاسِمِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ دَعَانِي فَقَالَ يَا أَبَا ذَرٍّ فَأَجَبْتُهُ فَقَالَ هَلْ تَرَى أُحُدًا فَنَظَرْتُ مَا عَلَيْهِ مِنْ الشَّمْسِ وَأَنَا أَظُنُّهُ يَبْعَثُنِي فِي حَاجَةٍ فَقُلْتُ أَرَاهُ قَالَ مَا يَسُرُّنِي أَنَّ لِي مِثْلَهُ ذَهَبًا أُنْفِقُهُ كُلَّهُ إِلَّا ثَلَاثَةَ الدَّنَانِيرِ

English Translation
It was narrated from Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: "My close friend Abu al-Qasim دلوالله called me and said: 'O Abu Dharr, do you see anyone?' I looked at what was upon him in the sunlight, thinking he was sending me on an errand, and I said: 'I see someone.' He said: 'I would not wish to have gold equal to that man's value and spend it all, except for three dinars.'"
