حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ سَعِيدٍ الْجُرَيْرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الشِّخِّيرِ عَنْ نُعَيْمِ بْنِ قَعْنَبٍ قَالَ خَرَجْتُ إِلَى الرَّبَذَةِ فَإ
ِذَا أَبُو ذَرٍّ قَدْ جَاءَ فَكَلَّمَ امْرَأَتَهُ فِي شَيْءٍ فَكَأَنَّهَا رَدَّتْ عَلَيْهِ وَعَادَ فَعَادَتْ فَقَالَ مَا تَزِدْنَ عَلَى مَا قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْمَرْأَةُ كَالضِّلْعِ فَإِنْ ثَنَيْتَهَا انْكَسَرَتْ وَفِيهَا بَلْغَةٌ وَأَوَدٌ

English Translation
It was narrated from Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that he spoke to his wife about something and she replied with a sharp retort. He said: "The Messenger of Allah دلوالله said: 'A woman is like a rib — if you try to straighten her, you will break her. But there is something useful in her crookedness.' Do not exceed what the Messenger of Allah دلوالله said."
