Hadith #480
Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ وَهْبٍ عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَا أَبَا ذَرٍّ ارْفَعْ بَصَرَكَ فَانْظُرْ أَرْفَعَ رَجُلٍ تَرَاهُ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ قَالَ فَنَظَرْتُ فَإِذَا رَجُلٌ جَالِسٌ عَلَيْهِ حُلَّةٌ
قَالَ فَقُلْتُ هَذَا قَالَ فَقَالَ يَا أَبَا ذَرٍّ ارْفَعْ بَصَرَكَ فَانْظُرْ أَوْضَعَ رَجُلٍ تَرَاهُ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ فَنَظَرْتُ فَإِذَا رَجُلٌ ضَعِيفٌ عَلَيْهِ أَخْلَاقٌ قَالَ فَقُلْتُ هَذَا قَالَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَهَذَا أَفْضَلُ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ مِنْ قُرَابِ الْأَرْضِ مِثْلِ هَذَا

English Translation
It was narrated from Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet دلوالله said to him: "O Abu Dharr, raise your gaze and look at the lowest person you see in the mosque." He said: "I see a weak man in tattered clothing." The Prophet دلوالله said: "By the One in Whose hand is my soul, this man is better before Allah on the Day of Resurrection than a mountain of gold."
