Hadith #501
Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ هُوَ ابْنُ عَامِرٍ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مُهَاجِرٍ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ عَنْ مُوَرِّقٍ عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنِّي أَرَى مَا لَا تَرَوْنَ وَأَسْمَعُ مَا لَا تَسْمَعُونَ أَطَّتْ السَّمَاءُ وَحَقَّ لَهَا أَنْ تَئِطَّ مَا فِيهَا مَوْضِعُ أَرْبَعِ أَصَابِعَ
إِلَّا عَلَيْهِ مَلَكٌ سَاجِدٌ لَوْ عَلِمْتُمْ مَا أَعْلَمُ لَضَحِكْتُمْ قَلِيلًا وَلَبَكَيْتُمْ كَثِيرًا وَلَا تَلَذَّذْتُمْ بِالنِّسَاءِ عَلَى الْفُرُشَاتِ وَلَخَرَجْتُمْ عَلَى أَوْ إِلَى الصُّعُدَاتِ تَجْأَرُونَ إِلَى اللَّهِ قَالَ فَقَالَ أَبُو ذَرٍّ وَاللَّهِ لَوَدِدْتُ أَنِّي شَجَرَةٌ تُعْضَدُ

English Translation
It was narrated from Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet دلوالله said: "There is not a single thing except that there is an angel over it in prostration. If you knew what I know, you would laugh little and weep much, you would not enjoy the company of women in your beds, and you would go out into the open, crying out to Allah." Abu Dharr said: "By Allah, I wish I were a tree that is cut down."
