حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَهْمِ بْنِ صُخَ

يْرٍ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَاةَ الْخَوْفِ بِذِي قَرَدٍ أَرْضٌ مِنْ أَرْضِ بَنِي سُلَيْمٍ فَصَفَّ النَّاسُ خَلْفَهُ صَفَّيْنِ صَفًّا يُوَازِي الْعَدُوَّ وَصَفًّا خَلْفَهُ فَصَلَّى بِالصَّفِّ الَّذِي يَلِيهِ رَكْعَةً ثُمَّ نَكَصَ هَؤُلَاءِ إِلَى مَصَافِّ هَؤُلَاءِ وَهَؤُلَاءِ إِلَى مَصَافِّ هَؤُلَاءِ فَصَلَّى بِهِمْ رَكْعَةً أُخْرَى حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنِ الرُّكَيْنِ الْفَزَارِيِّ عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ حَسَّانَ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَّى صَلَاةَ الْخَوْفِ فَذَكَرَ مِثْلَ حَدِيثِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ

English Translation

It was narrated from Zaid ibn Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) via Ibn Abbas that the Messenger of Allah دلوالله performed the prayer of fear at Dhi Qarad, land of the Banu Sulaym, arranging the people in two rows behind him — one row facing the enemy and one row directly behind him. He prayed one rak'ah with those nearest to him, then they retreated to the position of the others.
