‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏سُفْيَانَ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏سِمَاكٍ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ ‏ ‏أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏كَانَ ‏ ‏يَخْطُبُ قَائِمًا وَيَجْلِسُ ثُمَّ يَقُومُ يَقْرَأُ آيَاتٍ وَيَذْكُرُ اللَّهَ تَعَالَى وَكَانَتْ خُطْبَتُهُ قَصْدًا وَصَلَاتُهُ قَصْدًا ‏

English Translation

It was narrated from Jabir ibn Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet ﷺ used to deliver the khutbah standing, then sit, then stand and recite verses and make remembrance of Allah. His khutbah was moderate and his prayer was moderate.
