حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ أَنَا هِشَامٌ الدَّسْتُوَائِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ بْنِ ثَوْبَانَ أَنَّ مَوْلَى قُدَامَةَ حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّ مَوْلًى لِأُسَامَةَ حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّ أُسَامَةَ بْنَ زَيْدٍ كَانَ يَخْرُجُ إِلَى مَالِهِ بِوَادِي الْقُرَى فَيَصُومُ الِاثْنَيْنِ وَالْخَمِيسَ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ لِم
َ تَصُومُ فِي السَّفَرِ وَقَدْ كَبِرْتَ وَرَقَقْتَ فَقَالَ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَصُومُ الِاثْنَيْنِ وَالْخَمِيسَ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّكَ تَصُومُ الِاثْنَيْنِ وَالْخَمِيسَ فَقَالَ إِنَّ الْأَعْمَالَ تُعْرَضُ يَوْمَ الِاثْنَيْنِ وَالْخَمِيسِ

English Translation
It was narrated from Usama ibn Zayd (may Allah be pleased with him) that he used to travel to his property in Wadi al-Qura on Mondays and Thursdays. His client asked him about fasting those days, and he said: 'The Messenger of Allah ß used to fast Mondays and Thursdays. I asked him about that and he said: "Deeds are presented to Allah on Mondays and Thursdays, and I love that my deeds be presented while I am fasting."'
