حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ قَالَ عَدِيُّ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ أَخْبَرَنِي عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَرَجَ إِلَى أُحُدٍ فَرَجَعَ أُنَاسٌ خَرَجُوا مَعَهُ فَكَانَ أَصْحَابُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِيهِمْ فِرْقَتَيْنِ فِرْقَةٌ تَقُولُ بِقَتْلِهِمْ وَفِرْقَةٌ تَقُولُ لَا وَقَالَ ابْنُ جَعْفَرٍ فَكَانَ النَّاسُ فِيهِمْ فِرْقَتَيْنِ فَرِيقًا
يَقُولُونَ بِقَتْلِهِمْ وَفَرِيقًا يَقُولُونَ لَا قَالَ بَهْزٌ فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ { فَمَا لَكُمْ فِي الْمُنَافِقِينَ فِئَتَيْنِ } فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّهَا طَيْبَةُ وَإِنَّهَا تَنْفِي الْخَبَثَ كَمَا تَنْفِي النَّارُ خَبَثَ الْفِضَّةِ حَدَّثَنَاه عَفَّانُ وَقَالَ فِيهِ سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ يَزِيدَ فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَى حَدِيثِ بَهْزٍ
Isnad Chain
English Translation
It was narrated from Zayd ibn Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah ß went out to Uhud and some people who had gone out with him turned back. The companions of the Messenger of Allah ß were divided into two groups regarding them: one group said they should be killed, and another said no. Then Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, revealed: "What is the matter with you that you are divided into two groups concerning the hypocrites?" The Messenger of Allah ß then said: "Verily it (Madinah) is pure, and it repels filth as fire repels the dross of silver."
