English Translation
It was narrated from Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Who will guarantee me one thing, and I will guarantee him Paradise?' He said: 'I said: I will, O Messenger of Allah.' He said: 'Do not ask people for anything.' So when Thawban's whip fell while he was riding, he would not tell anyone to hand it to him — he would dismount himself and take it.
